Used to get calls supposedly from the Department of Finance telling me that they have monies for me. Always the same amount of $160.00. They could send it to me if I gave them my BSB and account numbers. They also wanted my Tax File number. When I questioned them that they, are from the Federal government and that my details are with them and/or the ATO the reason for asking was "to confirm that they were talking to the correct person" Even though they had asked me my name at the start of the conversation. They then hung up knowing that they were going nowhere with me.
