Climate change is complex, too.
So you have two areas involving complexity, which can and do overlap.
In fact the window for back burning and similar fire control mechanisms is REDUCED by climate change.
Also you have the fire season being extended overseas and overlapping ours, so that sharing of fire fighting resources is more difficult.
These are key examples.
Just because a truth is ignored, doesn't make it any less true.
People are limited by the scope of their knowledge and a failure to understand what it is that they don't know.
Denial is a powerful motivator to not push beyond these boundaries.
It's also a motivator to refuse to engage with what is almost total consensus of climate fire management scientists.
If people wanting to deny the science can find an outlier, (and inevitably there are a few) people cling onto that hope as if somehow, climate change isn't true.
Oh yeah. There is no substitute for fully informed discussion and that means not being blinded by what you refuse to see.
