Why do people need to reduce these things down into flase dichotomies, it doesnt have to be an either/or. How about the fact that it is unquestionably true that there has been a drought (climate) and that while there could always be more hazard reduction, no matter how much was conducted these fires would actually still have occurred. There are many reports and instances of fires in east gippsland not being detered by areas that recently had fuel reduction.
