If it’s worth $110 million to a drug company to get 4 months of earlier sales (PRV), then adding 19 years of protection to Exondys 51 (to name just one drug) through a combo patent could be worth $6 bill to Sarepta.

If you switch off every time I mention the word “patent”, imho intellectual property means nearly EVERYTHING to a pharma company.

Hence George Tachas’ value to ANP.

Add to that the possible ending of the Ionis licensing agreement (total conjecture but hard to imagine there isn’t an escape clause for ANP given no Ionis IP protection now and no new drugs for 20 or so years).

A little more research on Sarepta’s patents for those interested (2022 Ann report).

Exondys51 (eteplirsen) has (in addition to the Composition of Matter patents expiring in 2025), Methods of Use patents not expiring until 2034. ANP combo patents potentially extend that by 10 years. Currently about 60% of overall sales.

Vyondys53 (golodirsen) all patents expire 2025. Currently 14% of sales.

Amondys 45 (casimersen) has Composition patents 2024 and Methods of Use patents expiring 2030. Currently 26% of sales.

SRP-9001 (elevidys) - don’t know.
