I recall a few years ago needing to sign up for a carer's allowance, centrelink wanted a 40 page questionnaire completed about the ins and outs of my financial affairs, I put them in the bin because information requested had little to do being a carer but just data gathering for their agencies. I didn't get the carers allowance but felt more comforted by the fact they were deprived of information they could share with others.
