Just had a look at the Nikkei and agree with Starburst.
It fell 50% in less than a year, 39,000 to 19,500 judging by the Yahoo chart. After 2.5 years it was down to about 14,000 and has been in decline ever since with lower tops and bottoms. It popped it's head up once in 1996 before grinding down again.
The 7,000 low in October 08 looks like a 20 year low?


If that's what we have to look forward to it would seem about right for global economic management that makes Zimbabwe look only slightly less responsible.
