Best I have a bit of a think, lest the Dow have another laugh at my expense …

May US inflation figures are to be released tonight.

There could be a downside overreaction on bad news or an irrationally exuberant rally based on perception the news is good.

But then on Monday, cold realisation could settle back in.

Then again, the news might be flat and the market might also be flat.

Or the market might rally because worse news was expected.

Or the market might plummet because better news was expected.

Have I covered all bases?
