    Last year I had 8 eggs under a broody hen, all hatched. Normal you would expect about 50/50 boys and girls but I got 2 girls and 6 boys so had a total of 8 roosters. Gave 7 to Mr Fig Jam (MMS) who done some quick work dressing them

    LOL if I get the same ratio of boys and girls from these 19 eggs would be 5 girls and 14 boys, my chooks are pure breed gold laced Wyandottes. Breeders sell week old chicks for $17, point of lay pullets/hens sell for $50. Trouble with this breed is that they are difficult to sex, only becomes obvious if they are girls or boys when they are about 18 weeks old. If I get enough girls I could sell a few and to pay for the feed
