I read that was also the case for the french shallots but also read a conflicting suggestion they should be planted about now which looks like may be more correct.

We have had heaps of rain here in Perth this winter, believe it's one of the wettest in years. Have not had to water much at all, looking at putting a bore in but with all this rain I do wonder if it's worth it. Come summer it will be a different story
