Interesting question. IFN is prudently accumulating generation and matching firming. I suspect if they can get more firming as storage then acquiring some floundering renewable assets would be a path to strong growth.
This would be faster than developing more generation assets or capital light deals but they must get debt down while rates are lower as a priority.
Short term though I am happy with the strategy and management have shown excellent discipline to navigate the uncertainty created by policy vacuum.
If you want to build you capital then you may consider taking some opportunities when IFN is priced high then discounted as in recent times. I have been able to do a couple of sell high, buy low parcels to increase the holding/release capital. If you have strict boundary % ranges then it works ok and is lower risk than buy, first sell second. You can always buy back the capital value if the price doesn’t drop in a timely fashion. You want to get a feel for the level of short interest first as this can affect the range and timing of the SP change.
The current price is a good entry point in my view. It may get a bit lower in the current market so you could try a cheeky lowball a cent or two lower and get a great deal.
    DYOR. Good luck.
