A plaque acknowledging the Carey families presence on the Eyre Peninsula as a pioneering farming family in the Chandada area close to Poochera can be found affixed to the Streaky Bay town jetty.
Bill Carey the, now, elderly gentleman of a kind and caring nature whom my son, aka "Ace" @Acejm33 met at the Adelaide Royal Air Show in November 2019 is named on the plaque.
As I mentioned in a previous post soon after we met Bill Carey. Bill was very much in favour of ADN's prospects of mining (quarrying) the valuable minerals on their property and was in favour of the Poocherians getting a slice of the mining labour pie along with Streaky Bay people too.
My partner Laanie @Goody2Shoes and I are doing a short holiday loop of the Eyre Peninsula.
