Yes but when hiring contractors you don't want to be extracting piecemeal.
Float costs do add up and contractors may not be available when you want them.
6 weeks is not along time to set up the stockpile for the year.
It may also be economical to purchase one excavator to be permanently on site to loan the stock pile onto trucks...
I think we all agree in terms of mine capex/opex none of this is relatively expensive.
