Yeah. I know. But they dont care. Frank loans 3M ADN to Bobby Smith get paid $50K for the loan and in December Bobby Smith gives 3M ADN shares back. Frank is up $50K, and kept his shares and I doubt the price in December will be any different with some shorting going on now and take into account those shares need to be repurchased.
I don't do it, but it is just another financial instrument. With a bigger stocks, buying Put Options is a <little> similar, your banking on it going down.
