Carbon credits won’t reduce the emissions made by the concrete industry directly (unless maybe Boral can spend then with Andromeda?). The concrete industry WILL have to change and do its part on the path to zero emissions, it’s a question of when not if. Companies are going to have to work on their ESG whether they like it or not - the market will make it happen. Some consumers already happy to pay the green premium for products that reduce emissions in the real world and not just with an accounting exercise, and that is only going to increase, and eventually we’ll reach the point (through tech and/or regulation) where the premium will be eliminated.
So despite your sophistry it’s far from a moot point. The CO2 element is what I see as a huge leg up in making it commercially viable.
