You almost feel sorry for some of them because no doubt the blokes they followed into the short have already made their money and have made their exits.

That's how these people make their money, using the herd that follows them before spitting them out and moving onto the next - rinse and repeat. You'll never see them post about when they cover short or sell a stock they've been pumping because its an admission that they've been using their followers for their own gain.

Only weeks or months later they'll say "oh I made X amount on that trade, who's stupid now?" because their ego demands it. Detestable way of making a living.
