I would not put too much store in the market depth that you can see on the screen. Yes, it looks like there are only 9 million shares for sale and around the same number bid by buyers. However, the market depth can be very misleading since big buyers and sellers don't show their hands by lodging big buy/sell orders. Instead, they generally try to sell parcel by parcel or buy parcel by parcel so they don't telegraph their intentions to the market.
