I've made many mistakes, still am and I'm still learning from them. It's the only way to succeed and progress.
One thing I wouldn't do though is grab information and research from others, feed off their intel and then make a move (by chance) and claim it was my doing / "well executed game plan" and let everyone know about it. That's just me though, everyone is different and I need to respect that.
