A few random thoughts...
After the smackdown of March(?) when we saw 40c fall to 20c, I too was perplexed by shorters continuing to hang around these past three months and try for some more price erosion. It seemed like a big risk. Like others, I fretted over 'what they knew' -- but in more recent times (courtesy posters like Stemmo and Loft) I have come to think it more as plays driven by bigger picture scenarios. I also reasoned, IF they can drive the price from 15c to 10c, then that would be a reasonable return on their stake (33% right?).
But! It seems they've possibly met their match in the eagerness of LTHs -- and I guess others -- who've seen 14c-15c as a huge buying opportunity of an over-shorted stock. If I was a shorter and I'd been running my head against a wall for little outcome (and all the while racking up a debt that needs to be covered), I'd be wondering if it was time to cut my losses.
