Maybe the world is more complex and it is not a good indicator to just compare the aggregated number of all shares that are attributed to 'buyers' with the aggregated amount of shares that are shown for 'sellers' regardless of the corresponding bid/ask price. Fake orders and orders you do not see in the market book distort the picture even more. So, I don't think it is advisable to draw quick conclusions from a look at the market book or to even trade on it.

I'm thinking of doing that again too (listing my shares for sale at >$3). I'm also with IB. I was told by the MD of an ASX listed company that we all know well, that their advice was, that it is entirely legal to put up shares for sale at a very high price, and, that shares listed for sale cannot be lent out.
