'Control' is a really strong word to use in such a context. Just because SP has adjusted after such a flying start this morning off no news, doesn't mean all the recent momentum has been lost to the shorters.
If we went back to the dark recent 15c days relatively quickly again, then you could say they are. We're still trending in the right direction for now.
