I think the problem with claiming the company has "lied" is that it suggests they have intentionally set out to deceive shareholders and the market. I don't think that's the case, but I do think they have set overly ambitious targets, failed to meet them and perhaps not been fully open about why. But as redapples has articulated in his post above, some of us are here for the ambition, even if it doesn't always punch the timeclock on schedule.
