Why would VG call them in? They are earning 16% on the lend! It's not hypocritical if you understand how index/passive investing works. Some might say you are feeding the rope to the shorters. VG's BEST outcome - accepting ADN is an infinitesimal part of the relevant fund - is a massive short squeeze. The shares go up, and the lending rate will also go up. On funding, until ADN get BoA's the only likely funding option is an equity raise. Maybe some Government largesse is possible in the next few weeks. BoA's should materially change that dynamic, but you don't want to be loading a start up project with debt. JM knows that from his Mins Corp experience. (or at least you hope so)
