A couple points.

This is the most important part to keep in mind.

Climeworks captures the CO2, compresses it, fills into gas bottles, transports to the injection site and injects compressed CO2 into water deep below ground. They do not try to do anything with captured CO2. At a cost of $600-800 per ton.
Yes, I agree that scaling up their operation and simplifying process will result in significant cost reduction, perhaps even halving it.

"JM says ADN can CC at A$20/tonne."
Please note an important point.
He never said that the whole process from CO2 capture, compression, processing to methanol output can be done at A$20/t.
He only talked about the capture part, the very first step in the process.
The net cost of next steps is currently somewhere around U$1,100/ton after income from selling methanol is considered,
