I am extremely suspicous of the latests soirees that have taken place at the big end of town with no expense spared. Also the obvious collaboration of the ceramic tile manufactures, trips to Spain and Italy (meh) previously unheard of. The rubbing of shoulders has always been a big red flag to an outside observer.
These are reasonable questions to ask. Hopefully this is a reasonable answer...
At Earp Brothers in Melbourne BK was asked a similar question. He said that these large format tiles can be made all over the world, especially in Asia. However, the formula/recipe for the materials used are all set in Spain and Italy. It is therefore imperative to be where the formulas/recipes are written. i.e. have ADN's product be documented into the recipe.
Why? Abundance of quality product, the whiteness, the brightness and safe jurisdiction. Note the current supply comes from the Ukraine...
The whiteness and brightness are important because these large format tiles have their patterns printed on them prior to firing in the kiln. e.g. a marble look finish.
It was also mentioned that ADN appears to be in the box seat for enough volume of quality product to meet the demand expected. Words along the lines of "there are no other known suppliers outside of the Ukraine that could meet the demand". Until the Ukraine war is resolved ADN has a big opportunity to secure market share.... I think it was mentioned that ADNs product is superior to what comes from the Ukraine. IMO it would be hard to loose market share once it was gained.
