Up to 70% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from the use of fly ash. Fly ash and blast furnace slag are industrial wastes from coal fired power plants and steel production. These waste products can be used to replace up to 70% of the cement used in pavements.Up to 35% of the cement used in structural concrete can be replaced with fly ash, up to 50% with a combination of fly ash and slag, and 60 - 70% with slag alone.
These can still potentially be done to these levels and could also include the ADN additive to allow less water to be added to increase strength for less cement again saving more CO2. I don't think it is as simple as remove one or the other. Keep in mind you can only get slag from blast furnaces down south so it generally doesn't make its way into concrete in Northern Australia.
I'd like to see just how the ADN product reacts to reduce CO2 but makes sense that reduced water bleed means you add less and can increase strength of concrete for less powder used.
