Thanks for that MrQ. I'll bear that in mind as I do have some losses that I am carrying forward. With this in mind it gives me a different perspective of doing some selling prior to the 12 month period if the price is right. As you say some research is necessary.
Perhaps you could post an example showing that the difference between a trader who makes $300 k profit in a year versus an investor that makes the same $300k. Without any CGT or trading losses and another example with $50k of CGT or trading losses to offset?
