    It all depends on being sited in the right spot. Areas that look nice and 'windy' are usually poor choices as the turbines have a minimum and maximum wind window. Too high they have to stop, too low they don't work.

    So whereas coastal areas appear great, they aren't that brilliant as Germany found out too late. As a result, too high a proportion of their evening peak load comes from France's nuclear reactors at VERY high peak load cost - just don't tell the German people when they ask why their electricity bills are so high.

    But luckily a place as big as Australia does have plenty of more appropriate places where the wind window availability is reasonably high.
