Countries with sound public health systems, who recognise, test, and manage COVID19 early will “flatten the curve” of the pandemic, leading to less overwhelming stress on their health systems, and therefore less death particularly in at risk populations, age >70, co- morbidity. The Chinese, from a slight hesitation, hit this hard, as have Taiwan, Hong Kong, Sth Korea, and Singapore. One of our largest trading partners, China, has for now managed to get and keep COVID19 under control. Another of our large trading partners, USA, has obfuscated, and poorly managed their public health response, and will now inevitably suffer a significant health and financial effect.

the effect of this pandemic can be mitigated by early and significant public health responses.
Watch for the countries taking responsible early action.
