Pretty much correct. Other things to take into account are:
1. CGT clock starts again at conversion, so further 12 months before the 50% discount
2. If selling some heads to pay for conversion there is a CGT event created there also
3. There is potentially downward pressure on the SP leading up to the expiry date from people looking to sell heads to pay for conversion
