    Huh?

What does ATL have to bring to the table? Are they lithium brine processing experts?

What do you expect management to do in this situation?

This isn't a management problem. This is a 'we bet the farm on Pablo being some sort of genius who could work his magic and turn bring into product but it turns out he can't so the company is screwed' problem.

ATL isn't capable of magically getting the plant working, and even if they were, by the company's own reckoning, at current prices it wouldn't be worth doing anyway.

Everyone has been talking about how smart ATL is since they took the deal, how they had access to information we didn't which made their investment a clear indication that AGY was looking great. Next minute, we see that they were either horribly mislead or hideously incompetent, and either way clearly made an extremely bad move. Either way, they hardly seem like the paragons of wisdom you'd want managing the project, not that their expertise is directly relevant to AGY's problems anyway - lithium carbonate production is not their business, they are downstream of what AGY was trying to do.

The bottom line is that AGY failed to get to commercial production and ran out of sufficient funds to continue trying, and by their own reckoning at current commodity prices it's not viable to continue.
