In our so called modern world, transport is an essential element to all aspects of our daily life. The actual transporting is not about fashion it's about necessity. The fashionable part is whether one drives a Mini or a Maserati - degrees of what is fashionable. In the end transport will prevail but it's form is changing. ICE's have only been here for around 100 years and thus in human history it's a blip. Electric cars in various development forms have thus far been around even shorter.
Big name automakers have slowly but surely began to cough up huge amounts of money in readyness to electrify their fleet. Gigafactories are being built and governments around the world are implementing major policy changes as they phase out the use of the type of cars many currently drive.
The demand for the supply of battery materials using lithium is on the increase in all facets of life - not just transport but to store energy from solar panels amongst others. Huge stimulus packages are offered by authorities to install solar panels and battery storage systems. Battery energy density developments are still progressing using lithium and other alternative types of batteries are in the process of being developed for various end uses.
I sincerely doubt that leg warmers have ever had such huge impact on the world and it's governments in tackling what is seen as a threat to humanity.
ICE was the favoured and entrenched transport mode for generations. As electric cars gain further traction it may be that this form becomes not only the favoured replacement transport method for generations to come but also mandated.
Whether electric vehicles will use lithium in their batteries long term is yet to be seen, however, with the current huge developments as can be seen by the money thrown at it, indicate that lithium based batteries are here to stay for quiet a while - and certainly outlasting the last pair of fashionable leg warmers one purchased for the cooler season.
Due to the current extreme climate in the northern hemisphere, perhaps you'd care to send some of those fashion items to management so as to keep them warm and allow SYA's bid for NAL to be warmly welcome.
