You'd be a very brave CEO to bet against the entire automotive industry in economic times like these. It "could" be an enormous winner but it could also wipe out a company if done incorrectly. Toyota was initially only going to go down the hybrid path but quickly changed their tune last year. Now they are singing another song altogether. Not sure where it will lead.
For my money, the lithium based batteries will dominate for the rest of this decade. As for what comes after? Who knows?
