No expert but I am fairly sure there are a plethora of factories gearing up to make lithium batteries with graphite up the other end. Many many millions of them! A bit like a supertanker full of oil, once they are moving it is very hard to change direction quickly and near impossible to stop in a hurry.
Synthetic graphite defeats the purpose of electric vehicles ie burn coal to make graphite!
The synthetic graphite comes from China, have you heard the rumour that the world is trying to decouple from the China's monopoly on critical minerals including graphite.
China is as sly as a rat with a gold tooth! They will produce at a loss to control prices and cripple competition.
African deposits are vast and can be produced using cheaper labour. That is a worry, however the risk of being f#cked around by corruption and governments is real. I know this because I have A LOT MONEY tied up in AVZ. I wish AVZ would come good so I could average down in RNU. Just my 2 cents. If it takes ten years I will
need to seel my RNU shares to buy incontinence pads!!
