    Reporting to the CEO and working closely with other key stakeholders, the GLE Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining GLE’s internal and supplier oversight programs.


    NOTE: This role is subject to the incumbent’s ability to hold and maintain an NRC Q-clearance, as well as their ongoing ability to maintain nuclear site access.


    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain GLE’s quality assurance program for the design, construction, operation, maintenance, modification, and decommissioning of one or more laser-based uranium enrichment production facilities.
    • Develop and maintain GLE’s overall quality assurance standards, processes, and procedures in accordance with relevant QA requirements, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Develop and administer effective internal and external (e.g., supplier) audit and surveillance programs to assure a high level of compliance with GLE’s quality program requirements as well as associated regulatory requirements and commitments.
    • Identify, track, and resolve quality-related issues, working with suppliers and within the Company.
    • Ensure Company compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, codes, and industry standards.
    • Train, certify, and mentor QA and audit personnel as well as others; act as a subject matter expert for less experienced staff in the field of nuclear quality assurance.
    • Develop and implement systems and procedures for calibration of measuring and test equipment.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives including process improvement, work standards, performance metrics, and communicating and incorporating best practices.
    • Drive corrective action program (CAPA) administration, ensuring effective root cause analyses, problem identification and resolution, and prevention of future occurrences.
    • Ensure that GLE’s records management program meets regulatory requirements; oversee quality assurance documentation and records.
    • Manage relationships with external regulatory stakeholders, independent certification and inspection partners, etc.
    • Engage in industry initiatives to develop and maintain knowledge of technological developments, industry trends, and regulatory concerns regarding quality assurance functions.
    • Budget and manage quality assurance department costs.
    • Champion a strong nuclear safety and quality culture.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Ability to obtain and maintain an NRC Q-level security clearance (U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship).
    • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university or college in engineering or other relevant discipline.
    • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in engineering or manufacturing quality assurance, with at least five (5) years in nuclear quality assurance.
    • Extensive knowledge of applicable quality standards and systems (e.g., ASME NQA-1, ISO 9000, 10CFR50 Appendix B, commercial grade dedication, etc.).
    • Working knowledge and experience in audit performance and techniques.
    • Self-starter who can work in a team environment with minimal direction and supervision.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing.
    • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong technical acumen.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to navigate and lead others through ambiguity or uncertainty, comfortable in a highly iterative startup environment.
    • Proven interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to think strategically.
    • Ability to set and maintain high standards of performance and accountability.
    • Proficient at Microsoft Office suite.
    • Ability to work extended hours on occasion and travel as required (~10%).

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Active DOE/NRC Q-clearance or equivalent (DOD Top Secret) strongly preferred.
    • Advanced degree in nuclear engineering or relevant technical discipline.
    • Minimum five (5) years of management experience in complex quality assurance or related roles.
    • Current or previously certified NQA-1 Lead Auditor.
    • Understanding of and/or experience in the nuclear fuel cycle industry and technology, especially uranium enrichment and the processing, handling, and storage of UF6.
    • Experience with the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and/or operation of nuclear or chemical processing facilities.
    • Experience and familiarity with nuclear fuel cycle facility licensing and regulations (US NRC).
