When the facts change, one should change their mind .... SAR off loading to NST at a brilliant price was very very smart .... building a bunch a dubious assets into GMD at the current SP is also very very smart ... but now these assets require a processing solution and that logically is KOTH. How one makes a big successful enterprise out of the dogs breakfast bunch of assets will require a master chef, but without the KOTH oven (and KOTH ore sources) it wont turnout right.
All the key personalities at SLR, GMD and RED know each other extremely well .... and have lots of experiences as managers and deal makers.
Surely the consolidation will occur after the wrangling over price is over - not sure where SLR fits into this, nor am I confident every GMD asset will end up in the final mix ...... as for RED's hedging it gets less every year and its effect can be diluted by increased production .... CMM bough back its last year of hedging and this is available to RED or its new owners.
KOTH is a well function plant that is a key centre to the Leonora district for decades to come ... let Leonora Consolidation Mk 2 begin !
