european nickel philippines interest

Whilst not directly related to RML, it is interesting to note tha EN have just aquired an 18.7% stake in Berong Nickel and a 19.3% stake in Toledo Mining Corpn in the Philippines (subject to shareholders approval), which should be a given).

Their combined claim to fame is... approx. 275 million tonnes of laterite resource estimated @ 1.3% nickel; sound familiar?

It was claimed by the parent company's (Atlas Consolidated Mining & Development) Vice President Martin Buckingham, that Berong's long term future rests with "value added processing where laterite ore is processed on site" Berong has been undertaking DSO to Australia and China for 15 months, and are now looking to the technology of EN to implement it's commercialised proprietory low cost heap leach process for nickel laterites, and specifically refered to the successful trials at a "large scale demonstration plant in Turkey"..... got a lot of RML history there.

As I said, sound familiar? My view is that EN are definitely in this process for the long haul and, high returns which is all good for us holders.

Yes the edge has come off the traditional resource supply lines and is perhaps now a buyers market however, if EN are so confident of the HL method as to buy into another Philippine project, blind Freddy can see where this is going.

Good luck to the management on the nickel side of the strategic plan, while we await the PMG drilling which should be a ball tearer!
