Growing doubt on COVID-19 Application, page-38

I don't spend much time on the MSB threads these days, but whenever I'm a bit bored I pop in to see if what is being bashed on the keyboards of MSB followers is any different to what it was last year.

I'm seldom not entertained.

On about the fifth MSB post I read, and I come across this banger:

"...a known shorting fund who sold into the surgeons capital raise to close their short position @$2.30 "


Two arising questions; can you explain how:

1. a certain party sells into a capital raising being undertaken by a company,

and, more pressingly,

2. how a party's short position gets closed by that party selling into said capital raising?
