I'm not an expert but source my opinions from those that are. I consider the Finkel speech at the Press Club as well as the CMO's words at the lectern as being politically constrained just as Philip Lowe's agreement with Josh Frydenberg that "the economy is strong"... told to say these words?... when for months preceding he had been describing the economy as weakened, as diplomatically and cautious as he could.
In other words, IMO the Govt is preferring ideology to expert advice.
"So Scott what action shoud the government take?" Let the experts form a panel which should guide Govt in their announcements and actions instead of controlling the official advises from those in their control.
This is not a time for politics to be in the driver's seat... they should jump in the back and learn from real intelligence and leaders.
