They may be better at picking than you but not better at picking than me.
Money in the bank is under attack from inflation or a temptation for company fraud.
A company is not a good place to store cash like a trust is. A company is liable to all sorts of taxes and are better suited to generating income not storing it.
If they cannot invest the money wisely then they should return it. I can invest it far better than leaving it in a bank account to fritter away.
