Interesting article in the Weekend Australian p29 Business section that is worth a read. Joint push for $220m revival of Eyre Peninsula rail freight network.

Bulk grain handler Viterra and Aurizon are lobbying both State and Federal Govs to fund the entire $220M cost of upgrading the rail line that connects Port Lincoln, Cummins, Wudinna and Kimba.(Eyre Peninsula)
A state government spokesman said any funding would hinge on whether a revamped rail line was commercially viable.

The line would remove approx 42000 truck movements each year and reduce 25000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.

The line is intended for use by grain farmers which is seasonal... quarrying/mining is an all year round activity.

Could be well worth ADN to start a conversation....... and the timing could be just perfect. The dots are starting to be connected.
