I heard Prof. Campbell on the radio this morning promoting a trial of a heparin nasal spray to provide protection against the like of COVID and influenza. He described how it did not enter the bloodstream and how it stuck to the spike proteins on the virus (sounds familiar?).
The trial will have 400 participants and requires them to be living in the same household as someone who has very recently tested positive to COVID. Very rapid recruitment and approval via the Internet.
Didn't someone propose such a trial on this very forum for Starpharma?
Maybe Prof. Campbell reads this forum and got the idea.
Anyway a 400 person trial, like this, is hardly going to break the bank but it might break TGA lethargy!
