Maintenance/servicing are not the same for EV's and ICE vehicles, not by a long stretch. Your example shows how simply problems can be solved with EV's and for free while you sleep as a software upgrade.
The maintenance costs for Teslas are eye watering considering they are only a recommendation and 'optional'.
"It is highly recommended that you service your Tesla vehicle every 12 months or every 20,000 km, whichever occurs first. If you do not follow this recommendation, your New Vehicle Limited Warranty or Pre-Owned Vehicle Limited Warranty will not be affected."
