I have been investing since 1987. You learn that you are just not in the game. You don’t have access to management that the instos and “sophisticated investors” do. You are not playing golf or squash with the right people, or chatting round the barbie or at dinner.
So you take the crumbs. You don’t try and sell at the top or buy at the bottom - or when you do it’s generally dumb luck
I have done well with crumbs, but you just have to be realistic…..
