If "AEL, PEMEC, and SOEC." are used commercially and help build the massive production required fantastic in my view. I have two great big nifty RFX flow batteries. Ten years life span. If a ROI is ready for new RFX batteries, other choice or a Hydrogen option I will take that choice at before the end of life of my building UPS system. A bit like current EV vehicles. Battery range or recharge time limitation may be over come with a small fuel cell range extension or full recharge option when suitable Cost and equipment options are available. Not yet but shortly I am assuming particularity here in Australia where long ranges are not that uncommon and EV recharge points are scarce and likely to be heavily used if many projection on that topic are correct.
LifeSpan for AEL, PEMEC, and SOEC is a great topic to consider
See "4.5Comparison of Technical Parameters" https://www.diva-portal.org/smash/get/diva2:1354467/FULLTEXT01.pdf
"Therefore, the expected lifetimes of the electrolyzer technologies are relevant for this study. The expected lifetime in operating hours used in this study were 80000 hours for AEL, 40000 hours for PEMEC(and MCEC), and 10000 hours for SOEC.The current density and the lifetimes of the electrolyzers have significant impact on their environmental performance per 100 kg of produced hydrogen gas."
Point is that the best choices may replace others in time. We know methane containment is a key need Hazer address which AEL, PEMEC, and SOEC all have no reduction impact on.
PS did you note where HAZER came from? Dopey me missed that until the helpful post by Megafuna Post #: 49537790
