Looks like it is time to sit our kids down and give them a history lesson.
I love history (UK) and we find how cruel life can be in WW1..... for children.
Maybe when they see how these kids worked their butts little payment and in the most horrid conditions ...sickness.and no time off.
It is time we let our kids feel life ... (a little bit more) and teach them to cope as best they can. People are loosing their jobs .... health.... things need to be and taught gently to be in perspective.
We as adults owe it to our children to bring them up self reliant. It is sad (not maybe) ....but kids 16 + now have to put on their big girl/ boy pants.
