    Hi Larry,
    I had a problem with xp about 4-6 weeks ago. Frustrating I know.
    In the end, I bit the bullet and just loaded the bugger up again.
    I was at the end of my tether, I didn't know what to do so I dug out the disk, put it in and said "yes" to everything. It worked.
    Also contacted Microsoft, who were very helpful ironing out a couple of other problems.
