While this is true, I also know from dealings with X/BHP/Anglo that they are operating in a constrained SA BEE environment, it seems logical to me that they will offload undeveloped assets in favour of other countries (although in future a mid size CCC might be an attractive proposition with access to prioritised logistics).

I recall at the at the AGM a discussion with BB regarding this and he fully expected that these sort of opportunities are expected as the majors de-leverage undeveloped acreage, which has been devalued by the logistics bottleneck.

I know that X & BHP are both focussing on coal opportunities outside SA - not sure about Anglo.
