The emptying, has ZERO to do with a pre-existing emptying.
Jesus had Spirit/Word/Light without measure, God dwelling in him. He could have gone like, hey guys, look at me, look at me, what I can do. But NO, he humbled himself, came down to the likes of the least of them and gave a CLEAR demonstration of this by washing some peoples feet. What more does one need to show this?
And IF people only LOOKED at the lead in verses to this Emptying one, THAT same message is LOUD and CLEAR.
I am totally amazed as to how and why people come up with these creations.
Goodness me, if he had Spirit/Word/Light without measure God, AFTER Baptism, NATURALLY he is going to have the form of God. The moment Jesus opens his mouth, so to speak, he is expressing out God = EXPRESS IMAGE of Word -> The Word. Hence, if you have seen me (heard) you have seen (heard) the Father --> John 14:10, in fact says, it is the Father within him doing the works (speaking).
