These were explored with BarrelSitter over twelve months ago when the partnership with Brainchip was announced and it was and is clear when you read them that Magic-Eye has not invented the processor but rather the method of gathering the patterns of reflected light including laser and producing patterns which can be used to identify objects and calculate the objects distance from the sensor.

The purpose of the partnership was to acquire a processor capable of processing these patterns on chip at ultra low power without private or public cloud connection.

Brainchip has confirmed that the partnership is continuing and coincidentally Magik-Eye are releasing modules for Raspberry Pi to developers at the same time as Brainchip.

If you take the time to go to Magik-Eye’s website they have not made any other announcements about working with any other company capable of providing the necessary processor.

So sometimes in the absence of anything else if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is a duck.
