They're not exactly taking on Russia, they're doing it very shrewdly and degrading Russia of it's military might. It's tank numbers have been decimated, it's Black Sea fleet has been hog tied, and it's early warning aircraft have been reduced to a shell. If it weren't for North Korea they'd also be low on artillery shells. Vlad would love to see this mistake fixed also, but needs to save face. Another summer of western support for Ukraine and those f16's they promised and this could go well for Ukraine.
